#335. Landscape with Cows on a Pond.

  29 x 36, oil on canvas lined. Apparently unsigned. A paper label on frame back states: "Munger * Madison (Conn.) 1834 + Washington 1903". The title plate on the frame shows: "Gilbert Munger". This painting is classified as a Barbizon scene based on similarity to other identified examples. Offered as lot 3540, Landschaft mit Kuhen an einem Weiher, 73.3 x 36.22 cm, with original frame, at the Karl & Faber Munich, Germany, auction of 15 November 2023, where it did not sell.
